Area Watch.org is now organizing our efforts to negotiate a
fair and profitable lease agreement with interested drilling companies
or their representatives for the lease of our mineral rights. An
organizational meeting held on January 5, 2008 drew 125 property
owners interested in negotiating for a lease offer comparable to
others in our immediate area.
Area Watch.org members approved the
formation of a lease-negotiating committee to begin the process of
seeking bids for our mineral rights leases. This committee, composed
of your neighbors, will work to seek out the best bid for our area
and will present this information to the property owners involved.
Area Watch.org will develop and maintain a database of contact information
for interested parties and will keep them informed of the progress
of the lease negotiating committee.
If you want to add your property
to the group, thus growing our negotiating power, please write the
group coordinator, Doug Arnold, at doug@AreaWatch.org and
let’s see if we can work together to secure a better deal for
all persons involved.
If you are the leader of a near-by group seeking to cooperate with
other groups in order to increase your negotiating power, feel free
to contact the Area Watch.org leadership to see if we can work together.
